The Problem

Create a modern, intuitive Branding + UX for Hive’s community to trade effortlessly in a Web3 ecosystem.

Hive wanted to be a game-changer, mixing Web3 tech with the thrill of finding treasures online. We needed a UX that made blockchain escrow as simple as a handshake and disputes as fair as a playground referee.

It had to look fresh, feel friendly, and welcome everyone whether they’re new to crypto or total pros in a safe, lively marketplace.

The Branding Approach

A Fresh, Techy, Symbolic Identity for a Web3 Brand That Feels Modern, Young, and Full of Care

When I first heard the name Hive, my brain instantly buzzed with ideas yep, like bees. I knew the logo had to whisper 'hive' without shouting it something clean, simple, yet symbolically shaped like the real thing.

I played around with hexes and soft curves till it felt just right. But more than just the shape, the whole vibe needed to feel fresh, caring, and a bit futuristic. Think young energy meets smart tech. Since Hive lives in the Web3 world, I wanted the branding to feel cutting edge but still human, like a friend who's into crypto and also brings you tea.

So in the first round, I went with a playful vibe fun typography and a friendly hexagon shape.

It looked cool, but something felt off. It was missing that Web3 spark. The logo felt more like a kids’ game than a next-gen tech brand. The hexagon? A bit too basic. Like, it said Hive, but didn’t really feel Hive. So for the second take, I cranked up the complexity just a bit not messy, just smarter. I crafted a shape that looked more like a real hive structure, added sharper details, and gave it that modern tech edge. Something that says: 'Hey, I'm part of the future but I’ve also got soul.'

Blending Hexagon, Hive Structure, and the Letter H into a Bold, Futuristic Logo with Web3 Soul and Style

For the second round, I didn’t want to throw everything out I kept the hexagon. It’s clean, strong, and low-key screams “blockchain.” Plus, it’s the perfect hive shape. But this time, I went deeper.

I experimented like mad to sneak in the letter H inside the hex, and finally cracked it—minimal, but readable. Then I gave the whole shape a little futuristic polish with some clean symmetry tricks. The typography? Total overhaul. I reshaped it to vibe perfectly with the new logo. To top it all off, I picked colors that are bold, bright, and hard to forget. And boom—Hive was finally alive.

The UX Approach

Crafting a Landing That Feels Modern, Trusted, and Made for a Smart Web3 World

After nailing the branding, it was time to bring Hive to life on screen. The landing page had to do a lot—look sharp, feel modern, and instantly tell people what Hive is all about. Since users might land here from ads, links, or just curious browsing,

I made sure the design spoke the brand clearly from the first scroll. Clean layout, clear features, and smooth flow that builds trust as you go down. It’s not just about looking cool—it’s about making people feel that Hive is a fresh, future-ready product built with care.

Designing the Hive Dapp: One Platform, Three Perspectives Buyer, Seller, and Support

Next up was the real deal—the Dapp. I knew it had to work smoothly for everyone: buyers, sellers, and the support team. So I mapped out all the key screens, starting with a home page that feels like a digital marketplace hub. At the top, a clean hero section shows off a bold product image with a search bar front and center—simple and inviting. Below that, categories are laid out neatly, making it easy to explore. Each category leads to its own space for detailed browsing. The idea? Hive should feel like a place where you can find anything, no matter what you're looking for. A proper Web3 bazaar, built for everyone.

The All-in-One Product Page: From Discovery to Delivery,Everything in One Smart Space

For the product page, I didn’t want it to just show the product—I wanted it to do everything. This page is like the product’s command center. Before buying, users can check out all the details—price, bidding options, everything clear and clean. Once someone makes a purchase, the page transforms into a live dashboard showing real-time shipping status. No jumping around. No confusion. And once the product arrives? Boom—review option pops up right there. It’s dynamic, smart, and personal. The goal was simple: one page that adapts to every step of the journey, all the way from browsing to delivery and feedback.

Smart Floating Chat: Seamless Bidding, Offers, and Payments Right Where You Need It

Chat isn’t just for talking here it’s where the real deals happen. I designed the chat to be always just a tap away, with a floating bubble icon that follows you around the Dapp. No matter where you are, one click and the chat box pops up clean, minimal, and powerful. Inside, you can place bids, accept or decline offers, and even make payments. Everything happens right there in the conversation. No distractions, no extra steps. Just smooth, action packed chatting that keeps the whole experience fast and easy.

Making Selling Simple: A 3-Step Form That Feels Engaging, Not Exhausting

Creating a post shouldn’t feel like doing homework. So for sellers, I broke the long form into 3 simple, smooth steps. First, they choose broad info—category, type, all the basics. Next, they dive into product details. Finally, it’s the selling part—price, location, and all that. But here’s the fun twist: while filling it out, sellers can see a live preview of how their post will look on the platform—right beside the form. It keeps them engaged, shows the impact of each field they fill, and just makes the whole process feel way more satisfying. Like, “Hey, this is what buyers will actually see.

Wrapping It All Up: Every Little Page, Pop-Up, and Pixel That Brings Hive to Life

Of course, it’s not just the big pages that matter—so I went deep into the details. I designed the dispute page to handle tricky moments with clarity and care, added smooth pop-ups for confirmations and alerts, and made sure every extra screen—no matter how small—fit perfectly into the Hive vibe. From edge cases to success screens, everything got the same love. Because in the end, it’s all these little touches that make the whole experience feel complete, thoughtful, and ready for the real world.
